Moina is becoming very popular among breeders and Hobbyists. Ideally they are grown with algae water, which is cultured separately. This may not be easy for people who have space constraints, we are sharing an easy method to culture them.

You'll need, Moina Starter Culture, Spirulina, Good quality Yeast, containers to grow them, airpump, an air tight bottle.
* Add the Moina culture to two containers which is filled with aged non chlorinated filtered water(Some use boiled pond or well water)
* Add an air stone and set medium aeration
* Initially the number of moinas will be less so take 1/4 th of a spoon Spirulina and add to the bottle,
*Add equal amount of instant Yeast

* Add some chlorine free aged water and close the lid.
*Shake well for 5 minutes and let it sit, repeat few times, you'll get a thick green solution

* Filter this solution with a fine cloth and feed to the two containers
* Follow this feeding once a day initially then twice a day, once the Moina start filling up the container.
* From day 5 you can start harvesting a portion of the total number.
* Once a week add some yeast with the spirulina powder.
* Do partial water changes to the containers once a week and start a new set every 10 days.
* Completely Harvest the initial container on day 20, wash it and start a fresh culture. A small glass full of Moina from an existing stock can be used as starter culture for subsequent cultures.
NB: if at any time you have more than what you can feed, just freeze the Moina
It can be fed after thawing.
